![]() The Internet icon is the way you access other People’s PC’s and or NPC Computers. The Logs icon is the Log File for your PC everything you do shows up here, its good to keep it clear so that no one knows what you’ve done or where you’ve been. I’ll go over in general what each one of these do. Each of these icon’s opens up a window where you can interact somehow with the game. Some of the not so used but are still useful to know about are the My Computer, Hardware, Forums, Finances and the Rules Icon’s. The Icon’s that you will use most are Logs, Internet, Slaves, Software and Processes. I really love how the interface looks like your on a mac. You can move the icon’s to where you want. The interface for the game is pretty nice, literally it sets you up with a desktop with little icon’s that you can double click to open. In this case money is in the form of Euros. The concept for this game is pretty simple, you are a hacker and your job is to set out and and slave PC’s aka put viruses on them so they make you money. The game I’m talking about is called Slavehack. I bring this game up because it really reminds me of the game I’ve been playing for the last two almost 3 weeks. Gemstone III happened to be one of the more advanced games and you can still play it, but it’s upgraded to Gemstone IV. These were called MUD’s or Multi User Dungeons. The game was kind of like Zork where there’s nothing but words and you have to type commands like “climb stairs” or type in “north” to move north. dropping other people's IPs into logs though.In the mid 90’s is when I first started playing online games, I played a game called Gemstone III. You might run into race conditions when editing logs, depending on how it's implemented on the backend - maybe just a checkbox next to each line to quickly delete lines relevant to you? this might ruin some of the fun possibilities re. Maybe represent the user's balance purely in BTC? the idea of paying hackers in bank transfers seems a little insecure for a security game :) in terms of a fix, a simple » or other arrow-icon might fix thisĪlso a few little suggestions that I hope you'll like (as I like this type of game, a lot!): Confusion set in when the homepage sent me back to the tutorial. After I read the software page, I saw the green button said "what if I need help?", thought it was a help button and decided that since I couldn't find a next button, I was free to start playing. One UI thing that came up for me - going through the university pages, it wasn't totally clear that the green buttons were actually a "next" button. Looks like fun! I've been holding out for a modern retake on the uplink series or some other fun hacking game. ![]()
